NYE party sold out – information for ticketholders below

Thanks to all of you who are coming along to tomorrow’s White Mischief NOCHEVIEJA New Year’s Eve party as part of the King’s Crossover mini-festival. The party is now sold out, though some people may be selling unwanted tickets on our Facebook event page.
Please, please arrive early as the White Mischief party starts at 8pm and if one of the two venues gets full then guests will be directed to the other party. To encourage you to show up early, there is a free cocktail for everyone arriving before 10pm.
Recommendations for dressing up appear below; the venue is Camino, 3 Varnisher’s Yard, Regent’s Quarter, Pentonville Road, King’s Cross N1. Your tickets will also get you into another party hosted by Sancho Panza across the street at the Big Chill House, also on Pentonville Road. Dressup inspirations for our party are below.
Happy New Year!
Dressup inspirations
White Mischief’s mantra is that dressing up is not compulsory but strongly encouraged, and so far our partygoers have embraced this spirit with everything from vintage Victoriana to dinner jackets and ballgowns to insane Leigh Bowery-esque costumes, national dress from every country of the world and more.
This is New Year’s Eve so there’s every reason to push the boat out and come as your most fabulous self. It doesn’t need to cost much: charity shop chic and thrown-together costumes are far less pricy than high street fashion!
To make it even easier we’ve compiled a directory of London’s best costume, dressup, vintage, second hand, hair and make-up providers. There are shops here for men and women – follow this list and you can’t go wrong. What about dressup inspirations? Given the vintage Spanish / Latin American theme we suggest Bullfighters, Flamenco dancers, Mexican luchadors, Cuban heels, Conquistadors, Senors and Senoritas, Sancho Panza and banditos, Carmen Miranda, Carnival kings and queens, Tropicana girls…

We always encourage Mischief Makers to arrive early at White Mischief shows, mainly to ensure they catch the wealth of entertainment that’s on offer. But on New Year’s Eve it’s especially important to arrive early. Not just to caution against taxi or public transport worries; not just to avoid the pre-midnight rush; and not just to be sure you’re installed in time for our midnight traditional grape-eating ceremony.
No, the main reason to arrive early is that all those getting to Camino before 10pm will be given a free Russian Standard vodka cocktail!

Whoopee and White Mischief Present
THE HOUSE OF THE SANDMAN
Friday 31st October 2008, 8pm-3am
A Hallowe’en Spooktacular in a Magnificent 1700s Central London Mansion
(Venue address to be revealed only to ticket buyers in the week of the event; if you know or suspect the location keep it to yourself, lest the Sandman should visit you in the night and snatch you away )
This All Hallows Eve, beware The Sandman who lurks behind the shadows. Allow yourself to become bewitched by the beautiful Olympia at your peril, for her pretty eyes are not all they seem…
White Mischief teams with Whoopee for Hallowe’en
By popular demand, White Mischief is back. While we begin to plan some more of those 1,200+ capacity, festival-like parties for 2009, we’ve succumbed to all the Mischief Makers who have emailed us asking to throw a Hallowe’en ball. Better still, our good friends at Whoopee – who helped us find some of the acts for the very first White Mischief and of course kickstarted the entire UK neo-burlesque movement – are partnering with us to make Friday October 31st the most “spooktacular” imaginable. It’s taken longer than expected for us to announce the night, as we wanted to be sure of finding a venue that will knock your socks off.
And so we’re delighted to reveal that on Hallowe’en, Whoopee and White Mischief will present THE HOUSE OF THE SANDMAN, hosted inside a stunning 1700s mansion in central London. As it is a private residence, entry is strictly limited. No tickets will be available on the door and there is a relatively small number of tickets available compared to our usual events. But once inside you will be exposed to one of the most magnificent abodes in the nation, while surrounded by all the music, magic and performance that you would expect from White Mischief and Whoopee – including a set from White Mischief’s co-founders Tough Love as well as some very special guests. Best of all, the Sandman will invite four guests (or couples) to brave a night sleeping in the bedrooms at the top of the mansion.
Themed for ETA Hoffman’s psychological horror story “Der Sandmann”, we invite you to explore your dreams and your nightmares, bringing life to the inanimate and death to the living. More information on our next show page, or click to find out more about booking tickets.
