Live-drawing YOU at White Mischief NYE: Jason Atomic
Jason Atomic is a fine artist currently living in North London with his muse Manko and a grumpy little black cat called Howard. He’ll be drawing members of the audience live at White Mischief’s New Year’s Eve 1910 party.
Thematically his work is documentary reportage of pop and counter culture, exploring underground scenes, alternative and street fashion, live music & performance.
His energetic sketches (drawn without looking at the paper) make up an inimitable style. Loose line drawings in his always-at-hand sketchbook are worked up onto canvas, and undergo dramatic colouring in acrylics, inks and varnishes; vibrant colours, dribbles and splatters.
Work often combines images and text.
He has exhibited and performed at established institutions such as the Tokyo Metropolitain Museum of Art, Museum Quartier in Vienna and The National Portrait Gallery London, where he set an unofficial World land speed record for portraiture in summer 2008:

He has also performed at legendary underground venues like Tokyo Dark Castle, Kashpoint and The Batcave.

Kiki Kaboom, appearing at White Mischief NYE
We’re delighted to welcome Kiki Kaboom to the stage on New Year’s Eve. Kiki will be joining us at the end of a marathon four-gig ‘record breaker’ attempt, meaning that by the time she reaches us in the early hours, Kiki should be ready to let her hair down and party with the Mischief Makers!
Winner of Best Newcomer 2009 at the London Burlesque Festival, Kiki Kaboom has exploded onto the UK burlesque scene. An already accomplished actress and singer, she has taken burlesque by the balls and given them a gentle squeeze.
Part clown, part sex-kitten and all woman, Kiki has a cheeky, charming, irreverent approach and a wicked sense of humour. Oozing sass, sauciness and sex appeal, her warmth and wit ensures she remains a firm favourite with every audience.
She is a regular fixture on the London and UK circuit, and has performed internationally at the Amsterdam Burlesque Festival, the Dublin Burlesque Ball, and will be in Vancouver and Seattle over the coming months. She has also been chosen to model for Maybelline New York, and will be appearing in an upcoming EMI film about Immodesty Blaize and the rise of neo-burlesque in this country.
She has an array of acts at her disposal – classic, comic, vintage, character-based or musical and is also an experienced compere, having hosted nights for Chaz Royal (London and Amsterdam), Last Days of Decadence, Lady Luck Club and Beyond The Cabaret. Having trained with Jo King, Kiki now also teaches for Jo at the London Academy of Burlesque.
Ladies, gentlemen, hold on to your hats. She’s one vivacious vixen.

Frank Sanazi at White Mischief New Year’s Eve
Described as “comedy gold” by the Evening Standard, Frank Sanazi is the Ubermeister of Lounge.
Frank’s latest album, “Mein Way on a Steinway” contains some of his hits such as “Strangers on My Flight” and “Jack Boots Are Made For Walking” (featuring his lovely daughter Nancy.)
Though there’s no doubt Frank’s act is on the edgier end of things, don’t mistake him for a racist. His show is without prejudice and this consumate entertainer tours with two gentleman from the middle east and another who is both black and Jewish. Together the crooners are better known as the Iraq Pack – appearing soon in a casino near you.
We’re delighted that Frank has taken some time off from his tour of Europe to celebrate the New Year with us.
For more details of the huge line-up and to book tickets, read our New Year’s Eve page.

Your host on New Year’s Eve will be Desmond O’Connor, acid-tongued ukelele-wielder and star of Edinburgh hit “And The Devil May Drag You Under”.
Although fans of the alternative arts may well have caught Des in action previously (he’s one of the hardest-working men in cabaret and a Top 10 Burlesque Star according to Bizarre Magazine), even the mainstream broadcasting world has been exposed to his talents as co-writer and musical director of “Scott Mills The Musical”.

Clad in Jules Verne-esque copper and jade-coloured leather suits worthy of any steampunk, Amundsen and Slade are two mad scientists whose mission is to get audience members interacting with each other through sound.
The Sonic Soul Suits are covered in sensor pads and connected wirelessly to both a laptop and a sampling microphone. With the suits on, Amundsen and Slade (or audience members) can sample and loop sound, move sound from one body part to the next, duel with samples or create entirely new pieces of music together.

Although our good friend Mam’zelle Fifi is sadly no longer able to appear at White Mischief, we’re delighted to say that a new friend – and a brilliant artist of note – has stepped into the breach with an astounding aerial performance that will thrill your eyes and ears.
Here Miss Amundsen – Bipolarexplorer presents her naughtical misadventure on the high seas! Watch in awestruck horror as she faces down creatures of the deep, her own puny physique and raging alcoholism to map the unknown outer reaches of extreme sea-shanty practise with the help of her intrepid, flying accordion. Read on for more information and a full-size photo.
Continue ReadingOphelia BItz
Ophelia Bitz is a good friend to White Mischief, having performed at the last two shows – notably before a crowd of bemused budding life-drawing students when Dr. Sketchy held a salon at our Conway Hall show. Recently Ms. Bitz has been on stage with the brilliant Tiger Lilies as part of their London show; she’s also a notable MC and club promoter in her own right, as well as being known by the masses for her appearances with pop singer Mika and scary magician Derren Brown. With so many talents to spare, Ophelia has been invited to curate her own space at this White Mischief and will be putting together the mysterious “Hall of Oracles”.
Sefi, snake dancer
Appearing in White Mischief’s mysterious “Hall of Oracles” will be Sefi, dancing with a real snake and offering audiences the chance to get up close and personal with the serpent.
Look within for a full-size photo of Sefi in full snake charming action.
