The Penny Dreadfuls
In perfect keeping with our neo-Victorian stylings, White Mischief is proud to present “Victorian comedy troupe” The Penny Dreadfuls, from Radio 4, BBC3 and BBC7′s “The Brothers Faversham”. The lucky ones among you may have caught the Penny Dreadfuls’ five-star-reviewed sketch show “Aenaes Faversham Returns” at the Edinburgh Festival but their current shows at the Etcetera Theatre in London are all sold out, so White Mischief will be the main chance for you to catch them in action before they start a new run at the Greenwich Theatre late in June and then go on to yet another Edinburgh run. Read on for photos and glowing press quotes…
Miss Behave
Flying in from Berlin to be Mistress of Ceremonies in the main stage room at White Mischief is the incomparable Miss Behave, one of the last living female swordswallowers and a Guinness World Record holder to boot.
Having toured everywhere from the Edinburgh Festival to Canada to Australia with the Spiegeltent’s outrageous vaudeville show La Clique, Miss Behave is preparing for her own run at London’s Roundhouse. White Mischief is your chance not only to see this eccentric comedienne in action, but also to catch a preview of a few acts she’ll be performing in the Roundhouse show.

Dusty Limits has been called “the best MC on the Edinburgh festival fringe”, has hosted nights including his own noted show Kabarett, and has been feted by American magazine Newsweek. Plus he’s been an acerbic compere at the past two White Mischief shows and is returning to host an evening of song and sarcasm at our second stage on Saturday 7, June, 2008.

Tom Baker as Elias Rosenkreuz- Trance Medium and Prophet
Driven by his love of German cabaret and French chansons, Tom taught himself the accordion in the late 1990s, and immediately started to compose songs in a style best described as “gypsy vaudeville”. In 1998, together with French guitarist Sebastien Guerreau, he formed the band Fantasmagoria, with whom he has travelled extensively through

Prepare for White Mischief: the final lineup revealed
White Mischief is a one-night indoor festival bringing together the most unique live bands and some of the country’s best vaudeville performers. Over four rooms and two stages we feature more than twenty different acts, from headline band British Sea Power to the award-winning 1927 Cabaret. On the way there’s DJs and dancing; costumed walkabout characters; Miss Moon’s Portrait Parlour; and surprises including trips through time with an Edwardian space pirate.
No wonder tickets are nearly 90% sold in advance (don’t worry, there will be tickets on the door for those who haven’t managed to book!) Look inside for the full line-up, including links to biographies and photos of every act.

Filling White Mischief’s Lobby Room with awe-inspiring ambient sound and exquisite performance of the unlikeliest kind is Skinphony, the human orchestra.
Skinphony is an original Victorian-styled show of intriguing beauty. The show is enchanting, with instruments artistically made from old machinery and metal, each instrument a piece of art in itself, the instruments are attached to performers either by temporary piercings or to corsets and costumes, these attachments are the strings to the instrument. the instruments are amplified and played in a beautiful show or installation.

A hitherto unseen contraption has arrived at Scala. Like the Tardis, its interior is rather different than one would expect from the outside. Indeed, it’s a lot cosier inside than out. Welcome to Ginger Roger’s Time Galleon, in which Edwardian Space Pirate Ginger Roger will be taking intrepid White Mischief adventurers on excursions through time.
Depending on which way the hyperdimensional winds are blowing, you may find yourself on prehistoric Earth; the galactic court of Queen Ma-Bu-Bu; Ginger Roger’s childhood home, the sleepy hamlet of Little Snoodbury; or the lair of Roger’s arch nemesis, Oscar Milde. But watch out, as interfering with time can result in implausible time loops or – worse still – lost weekends.
