White Mischief goes to Brighton
Starting Friday 26 November, White Mischief is launching a smaller spin-off night in Brighton.
Mark your calendars now: we’ll be at the Brighton Ballroom (formerly the Hanbury) on the last Friday of every month, with live music, eye-popping cabaret, and an opportunity to dress up and dance to vintage jazz, soul, rock’n'roll and more.
The Brighton Ballroom has a tremendous heritage and as you’ll see from the photos is really rather exquisite. Whether you’re dining or just there to be entertained, for Londoners it’s the perfect excuse for a romantic weekend away; for Brightonians it’s yet another great night out.

About VIP room tickets

We’re offering a limited number of VIP tickets for our “Haunted Ballroom” party on Saturday October 30.
Note that these tickets have sold out at each of our previous parties, so do book in advance.
If you’d rather not spend too much time on your feet and like the idea of being able to find a seat easily; if you’re prone to getting hot under the collar and you’d like a restful spot in which to cool down; if you prefer quick access to the booze or if you’re just a snooty type who doesn’t like mingling with the rest of us, the VIP room is for you.
VIP tickets get you into the private glass bar, with the following advantages:
- A dedicated private bar
- Air conditioning
- A view over the main stage
- Access to the private balcony over the main stage
- Plentiful seating
- Limited capacity only for VIPs
VIP ticketbuyers can exchange their ticket for a VIP pass on the door. We will be limiting access to the room so that only VIP pass holders can gain entry. We will be selling significantly fewer VIP tickets than the room’s legal capacity, so you can be absolutely sure that buying VIP tickets will secure you a peaceful refuge, an enclave of calm, as well as a perfect spot from which to view the acts.
This is the ideal way to treat your loved one or to celebrate a birthday. Indeed, if you have a group we are offering group discounts on large batches of VIP tickets, so by all means contact us if you would like to order a group of VIP places.
Note that the VIP tickets are limited and have sold out early at all previous events.

Thanks to the charming and talented NKGuy who ran a photo studio to capture these arresting images of partygoers at White Mischief – including the cover shot used to mark this post.
And it’s definitely worth looking through Simon Harvey’s shots which feature some stunning light and texture.
Costume hire, vintage stores and hair salons

Dressing up is by no means compulsory at White Mischief, but we encourage our partygoers to enter into the spirit of things and in doing so we’ve come across dozens of wonderful vintage clothing emporiums, hair salons, costume hire warehouses and more. So we’re delighted to share the best of London’s costume and vintage scene with you here. Remember, while designer clothes may be expensive, imagination costs nothing and it’s possible to pick up some true style for very little cost at these wonderful locations. Don’t forget to tell them you found out about them on the White Mischief site.

We’ve long recommended Prangsta in our extensive list of costumiers and vintage retailers. Now we’re proud to announce that Prangsta is White Mischief’s preferred rental costumier, offering a 20% discount for White Mischief fans.
We have yet to discover a costume rental company whose outfits are as sumptuous, nor have we found a shop who will spend so much time personalising an outfit to the customer’s precise needs. This isn’t fancy dress, this is make-believe on a grand scale.
