In perfect keeping with our neo-Victorian stylings, White Mischief is proud to present “Victorian comedy troupe” The Penny Dreadfuls, from Radio 4, BBC3 and BBC7′s “The Brothers Faversham”. The lucky ones among you may have caught the Penny Dreadfuls’ five-star-reviewed sketch show “Aenaes Faversham Returns” at the Edinburgh Festival but their current shows at the Etcetera Theatre in London are all sold out, so White Mischief will be the main chance for you to catch them in action before they start a new run at the Greenwich Theatre late in June and then go on to yet another Edinburgh run. Read on for photos and glowing press quotes…

The Penny Dreadfuls are the three gentlemen performers: Humphrey Ker, David Reed and Thom Tuck who present the twisted happenings and rambunctious characters from the Victorian world of Aeneas Faversham. Their new show is a tale of murder and intrigue, venturing through the murky Victorian London underworld where the lives of a policeman, a cripple and a children’s author and irreversibly intertwined…
“Think A Bit of Fry and Laurie with a twist of Ripping Yarns and a dash of Big Train… Grab the chance to catch them live” – The Guardian
The Penny Dreadfuls began touring in 2005 to sell-out crowds, and a huge critical and audience success debut, Aeneas Faversham, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Gathering up a legion of fans, radio and TV appearances (BBC3, Radio 4), and word-of-mouth spreading virally, the Penny Dreadfuls moved to London for a series of sell out shows in 2007, as well as touring round the festival circuit in Glasgow, Leicester, Brighton Comedy Festival and Latitude. In August 2007, they presented a brand new show, Aeneas Faversham Returns, at the Edinburgh Festival, which more than lived up to all expectations, becoming the biggest-selling sketch show at the Festival, garnering another a roster of five-star reviews from the press.
They are currently working towards their third Edinburgh Festival show in August and the second series of their BBC7 radio show, ‘The Brothers Faversham’.
