Love birds and love cats, love hearts and lonely hearts, old romantics and new romantics: join us in a frenzy of flirtation, courtship, eroticism and lust on the most romantic night of the year with White Mischief, the show that Time Out called “event of the week, the month, the year” and the Guardian called “more fun in one night than most venues can manage in a whole year.”

Expect an evening of the finest cabaret, vaudeville, burlesque, magic and music on stage; live piano and opera; Tretchiko’s “Blue Lady” painting coming to life and singing the blues and a peepshow booth. Plus vintage jazz, swing and rock’n'roll from our DJs and the opportunity to send and receive your own Valentines.

Following White Mischief’s New Year’s Eve 1910 soiree at Proud Cabaret, which sold out nearly two weeks in advance, Proud Cabaret will be making available an increased number of tables for couples dining alone, as well as a limited number of banquettes and table for groups. Tables will be decorated by White Mischief’s team of art directors to invoke the spirit of Eros.

Dressing up is not at all compulsory but guests are encouraged to get into the spirit of things. Inspirations: 1920s-1950s; cocktail dresses and evening dresses; lounge suits and dinner suits; hats; waistcoats and tails; Casanovas; Romeos and Juliets; Romantic poets; swooning princesses…

Line-up includes:

Tricity Vogue as The Blue Lady

Opera from Liza Mezzo

Jazz singing from Francesca Lewis

Live piano jazz

Ministry of Burlesque “best female performer” Red Sarah is The Queen of Hearts

Tournament of Tease winner and burlesque starlet Audacity Chutzpah

Hooping extraordinaire from Jessie Walters

DJ Craig Clare playing vintage jazz, soul, swing

Decorated tables themed to the great romantic icons

…and more

What the press say about the venue:

“Seductive purple velvet banquettes, pretty girls in flapper dresses and tempting grown-up nostalgic British dishes” - The Wall Street Journal November ‘09

“There’s a proper stage. There are even real tablecloths and a decidedly grown-up food menu should you fancy it. If there’s one thing to really elevate Proud Cabaret above its hoi polloi brethren, it’s the sincerity and thoroughness” - Urban Junkies November ‘09

“The City gets Proud Cabaret, a burlesque bar with well-priced drinks, hearty suppers & a late-night disco promise”. - The Sunday Times Style magazine November ‘09

“Cast off your inhibitions and sit down to early-evening jazz among the low-lit booths & velvet curtains, grab a cocktail & a bite to eat” - Square Meal November ‘09

“The fact of the matter is that Proud Cabaret may well be THE destination; I had what you would have to describe as ‘a blast” - The London Word November ‘09
