SUPPORT THE ARTISTS AND CRAFTISTS
In addition to the many live bands and performers we are for the first time hosting a number of stalls featuring art, design, craft and objets d’art from the nation’s finest steampunk artists. There’s even a luxury chocolate stand from The Clockwork Quartet. There is a cash machine in the building, though we advise you to bring change so that you can support these fabulous artists by buying their remarkable work.
PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOGRAPHY
We support photographers’ right to document the event as a form of artistic expression; however please do this with the utmost respect for other partygoers and always ask permission before photographing someone. These days even your mobile phone can deliver photos and videos direct to Flickr, Facebook and YouTube. Please be sure to tag all photos you upload to these sites with the word whitemischief so that they show up automatically on our site and can be found easily by other partygoers. Note that we have a specific request from the act Voltini, who asks that you use absolutely no flash or lighting during his act whatosever, and that there must be no photography or filming of any scene involving naked flesh. Please respect our artists’ wishes. Also please note that the BBC will be filming a segment during the party; if you do not wish to be featured please let one of their team members know.
CLOAKROOM / VENUE ADDRESS
Yes, there will be a cloakroom. It is operated by the venue, Scala. Incidentally Scala is at 275 Pentonville Road, King’s Cross, London N1.
PERFORMERS / ARTISTS TAKING PART
Saturday’s party features dozens of artists including astounding live bands on and off stage, mind-blowing cabaret acts, themed rooms, DJs and walkabout characters. For the full list visit our event page or RSVP on the Facebook event. To read about the steampunk art and craft that will be for sale, read our list of steampunk artists.
A NOTE ABOUT DRESSUP
Dressing up is not compulsory at White Mischief but we encourage guests to enter into the spirit of things and express themselves – we’ve had everything from panda outfits to lampshades to flocks of birds to dinner jackets, ballgowns, even the occasional guest in t-shirt and jeans. To help you decide on a look we’ve created this list of dressup inspirations as well as compiling a guide to London’s best vintage, second-hand, costume, hair and makeup suppliers.
But our favourite is Prangsta, the bespoke costumier in New Cross whose incredible outfits leave the concept of fancy dress in the dirt! They’re offering White Mischief guests a 20% discount and they’re open on Saturday from 11am to 7pm!
